Given that this is the year where I am not allowed to buy any more books till I have read all the ones I already own*, this is one of the books I allowed myself to buy before the start of the year in a sneaky attempt to get around my own rules.

[The other ones I let myself buy were the new Jacqueline Carey, the new Bujold and the Joey Hill book, which are all getting published middle of the year. Which is when I anticipate I will be going mad trying to finish all the books I couldn't make myself finish the first time]

In short, no pressure, but this book is meant to save my sanity. And 450 pages worth of New Fiction may just do it.

*No, For Reals, I Mean It This Time, Damnit.

Mwahaha! I just scored a copy of this via the Dear Author contest. Giving away four free ones to the first four posters in their new Book of the Month book club. Woohoo! I wanted a copy when I was in the states for the holidays but they weren't on the shelves before I left.

Want Hell's Belles too.

See, but I always assume that when a reviewer has obviously read the book (can’t always say that about Ms. Klausner) but confuses characters, it sometimes means the difference wasn’t clear enough to stick in the reviewer’s memory after a couple of days, which may be my fault — And there were a lot of characters running through the book, so the confusion is an easy one. And that confusion says as much about the book as about the reviewer’s memory, sometimes.

Goddamit, Mick! Don't make excuses for my early onset Alzheimer's or... um... ADD!

Syb, I attempted to infuse some hate into my review but goddamit, I love me that Meljean Brook.

I'm reading it now. However, I just need to stay home and off the streets to really get going with it. And off the computer, and other...things.

Okay, so maybe I didn’t take it in the bathroom

I have failed!! *sob* FAILED!!

*g* I'm glad you loved it, Collette!

Well, goddamn. Am I getting shit wrong already? I’m turning into Harriet Klausner! HELP MEEEEE!!!

But, yeah, the husband wasn't a bad guy. He was actually kind of a good guy (except his brain got totally fucked over by Lilith when she made him jealous).

I see what you mean about too much talking but I shall politely (this is polite, right? *smooch*) disagree.

Collette, I welcome all differences of opinion here. Thank you, miss, THANK YOU!! :)

Okay, I loved, loved this and I didn't put it down once on New Year's Day. (Shame on you Bam. For shame. Okay, so maybe I didn't take it in the bathroom but you get the point.)

It was dense and I did have to go back and reread some stuff but I loved the same things about Lilith and Hugh that you did. And Lucifer? What a asshole and so gleeful about it and truly, truly bad. Not that wimpy bad guy shit. So good.

The dialogue? It was amazing--back and forth and pull and tug and give and take and....(can I think of another cliche? No.) Then the secks--way hot. I see what you mean about too much talking but I shall politely (this is polite, right? *smooch*) disagree.

So, I'd go A.
