Shiloh Walker’s What to Say

When There’s Nothing Left to Say

What do you ramble about when there’s nothing left to say?

After you’ve already blogged about the inspiration behind the book

When you’ve already done interviews here and here and when you’ve already hijacked the forums and blogs of friends. When you’ve got interviews of the characters coming up, ramblings the book going on…what do you say?

You could talk about the bad guy that was supposed to be a bad guy but wouldn’t cooperate and you kind of know who you might hook him up with…except I’ve already done that at Lucy’s. Well except who he’ll hook up with, and that’s going to have to wait a while. If you all want to know which guy I’m talking about, then you gotta read the book so nope, can’t talk much more about him either.

I could talk about the two other characters that I know seem to want a book-but if you haven’t read the book, me mentioning them could seem like a major spoiler.

You all don’t really want to know about the Book Brain syndrome I’ve got going on- no, it’s not a medically recognized diagnosis, but I bet us writers could band together and get the American Medical Association acknowledge us.

Book Brain- the state that happens to some authors when a book release date and/or deadline is approaching. Causes symptoms of forgetfulness, moodiness, excitement, fear, dread, happiness, often all at once.

I think there’s potential there. But exploring the ins and out of Book Brain would require brain power, and since I’m suffering from Book Brain, I can’t expend the brain power.

So nope…can’t talk about book brain either.

I suppose I could talk about Through The Veil. I’ve already interviewed the characters and those are coming up in blogland, or have already come up (Book Brain, I can’t keep them straight). I’ve been to so many places in blogland lately, I can’t keep them straight… (so forgive me if I’ve missed people…or uh… when I’ve missed them. I know I have.)

But what about the book itself? Could I talk about that? Eh. Maybe. We’ll try.

It is a paranormal? Kinda sorta. No vamps or weres, but plenty of monstrous creatures.

Is it an urban fantasy? Well, not exactly, but kind of. It has some elements of urban fantasy, I think, but the key of the story is romance.

Is it a romance? *G* Yes. That is one question that has a straight up answer. It is a romance.

Is it a series? Not yet-could be. Depends on what readers think, depends on how well it sells and if my editor wants more…and naturally, it depends on if the characters talk to me.

But other than that… I really don’t know if I got anything say. :( I’m sorry, Bam…and here I was trying to think of some clever and witty and oh-so-original to blog about. I guess we’ll just have to go with my rambling rambles instead.

However, to say thanks to any readers out there that kept up with my rambles, make sure you check out the scavenger hunt I’m doing to help celebrate my mad dash across blog land.

Through the Veil

Book Blurb

Found wandering in a field as a child, Lee Ross was given a name by the state and placed in a foster home–without anyone realizing she wasn’t entirely human. All her life, she’s tried to dismiss the odd dreams that have plagued her, dreams of monsters creeping through the night and a man, fighting demons by her side. But the bruises she wakes up with are all too real to ignore

Then the man from dreams appears in the flesh. His name is Kalen and he insists that her destiny lies in his world, the world of her dreams. To save their people, he must convince Lee to give everything she knows, follow her heart and cross into the Under Realm, even though once she does, she’ll never be able to return.

Hi Shiloh. I’ve read some great reviews for this book. I know you write erotic romance also. Is Through the Veil steamy or no? Love the blurb and the cover.

Got news for you…even when you think you have nothing to say - you are still interesting. Our book store here finally had your book in Friday. I am finishing a book now and it will be between you and Jacqueline Carey as to who is read next. I may have to have an outside party choose for me…I am weak… =]

I know, I am a dork, but you Rock in my book!

    Peace and happy blog travels.

Hey folks… sorry I’m late chiming in, was out of town all weekend.

    Aztec, :) Thank you.

Jambrea, apparently I’m very entertaining. ;) I entertained all sorts of people over the weekend. Heh. Nice seeing you Saturday!

Jill, Veil is a little steamier than regular romance, but I can’t quite define it as ‘erotic’ romance. Don’t know if that helps or not!

Jaime, when you do read it, hope ya like it!
